Second hand bricks are available in a range of colors, Reds classic's which are widely available, including Terracotta tones and light soft reds. Greys, often called "reclamation greys" or "coach house grey," come in light, soft greys to darker charcoal or blue-grey. Yellows and Browns, or Brown spec', Creams and Whites or a "Jerusalem white" some with weathered surface's'.

Recycled bricks or secondhand bricks in most cases have been removed, then cleaned usually taken from older buildings and walls. Recycled bricks can date back all the way to when convicts were used as labours. These brick where original sand stocks and often have the makers stamp in the frog of the brick.
